DAY 1
Welcome to Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are welcomed by your guide and driven to your accommodation. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool.

DAY 2
Empakaai Crater
Depart at 8am for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (2.5 hours). Once inside the Conservation area there is a 3-hour drive through the highlands to reach camp. On arrival at the special campsite on the rim of the Empakaai crater, trek down to the crater floor with a ranger. September and October are Flamingo breeding season, and the lake is fringed with thousands of flamingos. The descent takes about 40 minutes. Climb back up the crater wall in time for sundowners overlooking one of Tanzania’s hidden gems.

DAY 3
Ngorongoro Highlands
Set off with Maasai guides and their donkeys, winding your way through the rolling hills and picturesque Maasai villages. Today’s hike is around 8 hours. Arrive in Acacia camp in the afternoon and you have the option for a short hike to a lookout for sundowners with beautiful views overlooking the volcano, Ol Doinyo Lengai.

DAY 4
Lake Natron
The hike towards Lake Natron continues. Vistas are dominated by the active Volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai and the dramatic walls of the Rift Valley. Upon reaching the Rift Valley floor, you are met by the car and transferred to the Lake Natron Tented Camp. Today’s hike is around 4 hours. Arrive at camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, take a walk with your Maasai guide to the lake shores and laze around the covered natural pools.

Lake Natron
After breakfast, take a short game drive of the area and hike with your Maasai guide to the waterfall for a swim. After lunch, depart for Lake Manyara Region.

DAY 6
Lake Manyara
We make our way to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Lake Manyara’s forests host large monkey and baboon populations and the very shy tree-climbing lion. Explore the large hippo pools and the lake shores that are the breeding grounds for thousands of flamingos.

DAY 7
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we make our way into the Ngorongoro Crater- a highlight of every safari! The sheer crater walls give way to a wide expanse of land, home to dense animal populations including thousands of flamingos during breeding time. This is your chance for an encounter with an endangered rhino.

DAY 8
Serengeti National Park
Today we drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti. The Serengeti’s endless grass plains are home to huge herds of wildebeest and zebra. Spend the afternoon watching hunting cheetahs, playful lion cubs and majestic leopards before heading to the lodge for sundowners.

DAY 9
Serengeti National Park
Another day to explore pockets of the Serengeti’s plains. There is the opportunity today to split the day into a morning and afternoon game drive and return to the lodge for a hot lunch.
